Back from Paris and now headed to the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning for the semester by way of Washington, DC for my Frederick J. Clarke Fellowship at the Army Corps of Engineers’ Institute for Water Resources. At MIT, I’ll be continuing work on the environmental conflict resolution modeling book while working with the Environmental Policy and Planning Group, and at IWR I will be working on an effort to model the effects of Corps of Engineers land purchases for environmental restoration purposes. Stay tuned!
I will be in Paris France between June and December, 2011 for my sabbatical. While there I will be drafting a book on Environmental conflict resolution modeling. I will also be working on a project to better study environmental restoration in the context of urban growth.

Developing a Solar Energy Potential Map
By Lyle Leitelt and Todd BenDor
Are you interested in increasing renewable energy use in your community? Efforts like the Solar America Cities initiative have helped spread the use of solar energy in communities across the country, but solar is still an under-used resource in many places. This month’s PAS Memo describes how solar energy potential maps can help inform communities, residents, and business owners of the viability of solar energy on specific properties and rooftops.
